A Successful PPG Meeting: Improving Patient Care and Access

We are delighted to share the highlights of our recent Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting, held on Tuesday, September 26th, at 6 am at our surgery. This event was open to all our patients aged 21 and over, and the response was overwhelming.

Within a short time, all 20 tickets made available on Eventbrite were claimed, demonstrating the strong interest of our patient community. Attendees came from various backgrounds, contributing to the diversity of perspectives in the room.

Our Lead GP Dr. Ahmed Elsheikh, led the meeting and focused on two crucial topics. Firstly, he addressed a concerning incident of aggressive behaviour from one of the patients, emphasizing our commitment to creating a safe and respectful environment for all. Secondly, he delved into the steps we are taking to enhance patient access, providing insights into the workings of our appointment system.

During the meeting, statistics and data related to patient access were discussed, shedding light on our efforts to improve service quality. Dr. Elsheikh also dedicated time to answering patient questions and addressing their valuable feedback.

We are pleased to report that the meeting was a resounding success, fostering constructive dialogue between our patients and healthcare providers. As part of our ongoing commitment to patient engagement, we plan to hold PPG meetings at least twice a year, ensuring that your voices continue to shape the future of our practice. Thank you for your active participation and support in our mission to deliver exceptional care. Stay tuned for updates on our next PPG gathering!
